Sentinel-2 Semantic Earth Observation Data and Information Cube for Austria.

Big EO data - challenge: The Copernicus Programme and its Sentinel satellites generate more open and freely available satellite data than any other space programme ever before.

Sentinel-2 data is heavily underused due to barriers in data download (volume) and programming free access for cloud-based analyses.

Artificial Intelligence on Earth Observation Satellites

The project demonstrates the deployment of artificial intelligence in earth observation on satellite platforms. The rapid identification of phenomena directly in space, such as the investigated wildfire (smoke plume) detection in live pictures on the satellite, is essential to enable faster responses to time-critical developments on earth and enables completely new space missions and use cases.
