Global transparency of agricultural crop production

In India, 70% of rural households depend primarily on agriculture for their livelihood, with 82% of farmers being small and marginal. The ESA-backed AG|knowledge 4.0 project uses remote sensing satellite data from Copernicus, weather satellites and GNSS technologies to provide integrated analytical services and indicators for agricultural risk monitoring.

Around 30 million people in India did not have access to electricity in 2019. ESA-sponsored MOWGLI aims to use EO, telecommunication and navigation satellite technologies to optimise microgrid life cycles, enhancing access to electricity and renewable energy sources in rural India.

Cardiovascular diseases are the first cause of death globally, taking around 17.9 million lifes each year. ESA-coordinated GoWalk-Walk2Health consists of a mobile app using GNSS services aimed at encouraging older people to take regular exercise, in order to improve their health.
