A distance-learning service for the medical professions in Europe

The European Medical Network (EMN) was formed to create a distance-learning service for the medical professions in Europe; at its core is a menu-driven digital satellite broadcast combined with an Internet Service. A pilot project was launched in order to assess and verify the acceptance of the proposed service by the target groups, its operational feasibility throughout the entire value chain, and the financial feasibility of all separate steps as pro rata business plan budgets.

European Microgravity Database for Clinical Research

Effective diagnostics and treatment must be supported by effective collection and access of patients’ health data, distribution of medicines, and sharing of information. Information technologies, together with telecommunications systems, contribute towards achieving these goals.

This project concerns a proposed database for:

● collecting experimental and health monitoring data and;

● accessing it for research purposes by the scientific user community.
