An illumination test was performed by Paolo Nespoli in connection with the ‘Greenhouse in Space’ education project on 26 December 2010. This is an education project where the concept of fresh food production in space is related to the biology and science curriculums of 12 to 14 year olds through film and ISS live link activities.

A distance-learning service for the medical professions in Europe
The European Medical Network (EMN) was formed to create a distance-learning service for the medical professions in Europe; at its core is a menu-driven digital satellite broadcast combined with an Internet Service. A pilot project was launched in order to assess and verify the acceptance of the proposed service by the target groups, its operational feasibility throughout the entire value chain, and the financial feasibility of all separate steps as pro rata business plan budgets.

This project concerns a proposed database for:
● collecting experimental and health monitoring data and;
● accessing it for research purposes by the scientific user community.
