The core objective of the Sen4Stat project is to facilitate and accelerate the adoption of EO-based information by National Statistical Offices (NSOs), specifically to support the production of agricultural statistics. The approach focuses on blending satellite observations with national survey systems and statistical processes.
The project works through demonstration and co-development with NSOs in four pilot countries: Spain, Ecuador, Senegal, and Tanzania. In its second phase, additional work has expanded to include new regional pilots such as Pakistan and Mali.
Overall, Sen4Stat continues to demonstrate how modern EO workflows can complement and enhance conventional data collection for agriculture, leading to more accurate, timely, and policy-relevant insights.
