Hundreds of new projects added to the ESA SDG Catalogue
The ESA SDG Portal, managed by the Member States Relations and Partnerships Office (DG-SM) was developed and implemented in 2018 as a transversal catalogue collecting different activities from all ESA Directorates and Programmes and aligning them with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By doing so it was the first space agency in the world to structure and present its activities along the UN SDG’s.
In light of the Catalogue’s second anniversary over 400 new activities from different ESA programmes were identified, analysed and published on the portal. Each project has been assigned with one or several SDG’s it supports (or could support) while also identifying the specific SDG targets it relates to.
The new input includes activities undertaken within the NAVISP programme, projects supported through different Business Applications and Space Solutions initiatives, the eo4society activities within the EOEP-5 programme as well as success stories published on the we explore. you benefit. website maintained by the Human and Robotic Exploration directorate.
You are kindly invited to browse through the catalogue and we hope you’ll be inspired by the many ways space infrastructure and space technologies help life on Earth.
Moreover you are welcome to contact us in case of any suggestions, inputs and ways in which we could improve the portal.
