Weather Intelligence Services

The objective of the developed solution is to help companies in the agricultural sector, particularly in developing countries, to combat weather and climate hazards by providing weather and climate services. The project aims to provide an easy-to-deploy, packaged and mastered solution combining sophisticated global models (Meteo-France), downscaled to regional areas (WeatherForce), and fed by local IoT weather stations as well as Earth Observation satellite data in addition to the meteorological satellite data, using machine learning techniques. The use of small IoT stations and the integration of EO satellite data brings a significant reduction of costs and time to deploy the service. A pilot study is being performed in in Peru with one of the country's 10 largest farms, and the service is planned to be validated by 5 potential customers. The service is mainly targeted at international agriculture groups and local large farm producers.
