Two way Information Management for Public Risks and Incidents

Based on satellite positioning and satellite communications, two Way Information Management (TWIM) is a Feasibility Study to assess the added value of receiving information regarding incidents, public safety issues and criminal behaviour from the general public via their smartphones or other mobile devices, in support of operations of Civil Protection Services (Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service etc). The objective of this study was to assess the technical feasibility as well as the economic viability of an integrated service that allows the general public act as witnesses to report various types of incidents which are then disseminated to numerous end users.
