Online tools for forest management at single tree level

This solution proposes to use very high resolution optical images and stereo images from satellite (i.e. Worldview 3) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to optimize activities conducted in the forest industry. It aims to provide a real alternative to the traditional measurement and lser altimeters with lower cost and more frequency of acquisition for forest monitoring and estimation of up-to-date forest assets. Tree Tops aims to be a cost-effective service for timber inventory estimations leveraging individual tree crown detection and delineation. This new feature will be merged into the successful service ForestHQ from Treemetrics and will allow forest owners to have accurate valuation of their forests and will allow forest managers to optimize wood production. The main stakeholders that can benefit from these new online tools are forest owners and managers, buyers, investors, timber funds and regulatory bodies.
