Satellite Technology to Enable new Learning and Lessons Environment

The project addresses e-learning for students constrained to home schooling policies during COVID-19 lockdown. STELLE objectives are to develop and trial a new set of interactive courses making use of satellite EO data for math, sciences and IT students in secondary schools. These courses are added to the operational Scuolab e-learning platform used in more than 1000 schools in Italy. The new service, called Scuolab SDA (Satellite Data Augmented), mobilizes sets of Copernicus Sentinel data into an immersive virtual laboratory environment for experiments related to the dynamics of climate change. The demonstration activities take place in more than 10 Italian schools and few other European schools.
