Understanding how low shear conditions and gravity may affect endothelial cell function

ISS In vitro Experiment in KUBIK incubator examining Endothelial cell gene expression under microgravity. Endothelial cells line blood vessels and play a key role in vascular function. Results of the experiment show that gene expression associated with blood flow sensing and pro-inflammatory responses was altered in microgravity. The data from this study is relevant to understanding how low shear conditions and gravity may affect endothelial cell function.
