Space Women motivating and empowering girls to get involved with space

By 2017, only 29.3% of science researchers in the world were women. The ESA-supported Space Girls Space Women exhibition aimed to inspire girls and women to pursue careers in science and technology especially in the space environment.

Scientists, engineers, students, professors and astronauts: there are women passionate about space working in all areas of space science and technology. Yet in many cases, they are still in the minority. ESA Communications teamed up with the international press agency Sipa Press to launch Space Girls Space Women, an exhibition designed to showcase girls dreaming about space and women working in space, to share their inspiring stories with the world. Attracting women to careers in science and technology is an important objective for all of us. By demonstrating how women can shape their working environment in space research and technology, ESA helps to inspire future generations.
