Space-based services to support resilient and sustainable critical Infrastructure

The RESUCI product uses EO and GNSS data to support resilient and sustainable critical infrastructures. The service aims at monitoring obstacles and detecting human activity through the recurrent mapping and monitoring of powerlines protection corridors. It also aims at providing tools for field maintenance operations management and control in order to allow for the continuous verification of the field maintenance work and to provide support to improve planning and prioritizing of the effort needed for the field maintenance work. The product mainly targets energy network operators managing critical infrastructures such as powerlines and gas pipelines. The use of space-related data present several advantages compared to traditional monitoring methods. It allows the study of certain chemical and physical properties of objects that are not understandable to the naked eye, the understanding of the relationship between the different components to be analysed and the surrounding landscape, the ability to obtain data at a distance, the possibility of temporal analysi, and the analysis of results in a fast and automated way.
