Extension and consolidation of satellite transmissions from all stadiums of Lega Pro “Series C” in Italy

The KABALIST project had the goal to extend and consolidate the experimental permanent installations for satellite transmissions from all stadiums of Lega Pro “Series C” in Italy. The aim was to reach many users through a business model based on IP protocol Ka-band satellite, the ideal system of today - efficient, safe and affordable - for long-lasting live transmissions. The goal was reached through the implementation and validation of efficient source coding techniques, double user terminal per camera transmission, duly characterisation of propagation phenomena for each site, and optimisation of dynamic bandwidth allocation over IP management.
