Electronic Offender Monitoring

The objective of this project is to extend an Electronic Monitoring (EM) system by Geosatis comprising hardware (GPS ankle bracelet, home-station, mobile charger) as well as a monitoring platform with new space assets. The aim of this feasibility study is inter alia to develop a prototype EM system incorporating satellite navigation to improve the localisation capabilities of the device (availability, precision, integrity/securyti) and Earth Observation (EO) to improve visualisation allowing for more efficient and effective monitoring of offenders. Main users of the system are national or regional governmental bodies such as probation or prision institutions or police as well as regulatory authorities.
