Concentrating solar power forecast system for participation in the Spanish electricity market using EO and COM technologies  

The CSP-FoSyS is a solar-thermal project based on the results of the Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Study aiming at integrating concentrating solar thermal power plants into electricity grid. The service targets several users such as the owners of power plant and forecasting systems, the operators of the power plants, the grid operators who transfer the plant electricity production to the customers, and the market agents who will use the FoSyS forecasts in order to sell the solar plant electricity production at the best price. The service uses Earth observation and communications satellites in order to provide high-quality data used for cloud motion analysis with large spatial coverage and to integrate remote ground measurement stations in areas without telephone or mobile connection.
