Austrian Data Cube

The Austrian Data Cube (ACube) project delivers a prototype system making Copernicus data available to the broader public. The consortium of five Austrian partners introduces a state-of-the-art infrastructure integrating a cloud-based data cube concept for Austria. The data cube concept stores data in a gridded multi-dimensional database capable of providing time-series of highly standardized and harmonized radiometrically and geometrically corrected satellite data.

The Austrian Data Cube was designed towards several outcomes:

1. The simplification of user access to analysis ready Copernicus data in Austria by developing a joint Sentinel-1 / -2 data cube as a single access point to standardised Copernicus data.

2. The development of a user-friendly framework, tailored to user’s day-to-day work.

3. The involvement of diverse Austrian users to identify requirements to the data cube and issues that currently block the exploitation of Copernicus data.

4. The support of an easy-to-use service concept for the exploitation of Copernicus data in combination with further geo-data and for strengthening the Austrian role in EO (Earth Observation).
