Improving the management of the transport supply chain of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical goods

The Xciti'ID project was dedicated to design, develop and validate a pre-operational integrated service platform aiming at significantly improving the management of the transport supply chain of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical goods (as well as other goods, such as food) by providing globally and 7days/week near-real-time track and trace services with associated temperature data logs. Xcit'ID is the follow-up of the "Gulliver" ARTES 20 Feasibility Study, which pre-validated the technical and commercial feasibility of the proposed solution, and forged consolidated partnerships with important stakeholders. The main goal of Xcit'ID was to develop new product providing near-real-time monitoring of temperature, geo-position and timing, of uniquely identified goods travelling along world-wide cold chains, independently from local infrastructure. The service is mainly targeted at the pharma industry, insurance and logistics companies as well as humanitarian NGOs.
