Simulated lunar habitat

The LUNA project currently under development at EAC is aiming at creating an open-access, no cost-barrier surface mission testing facility for ESA, external researchers, stakeholders and other interest groups. The facility will consist of the LUNA dome, an inflatable structure with a 900 m2 regolith test bed, and FlexHab, a habitat module for short duration tests (for crew of 4). The facility will be coupled with a carbon-free energy system and have storage space and office areas for the users. The facility will be run on a "plug-and-play" basis: users will be expected to bring their necessary equipment, while efforts are made to make sure both LUNA and FlexHab follow relevant standards for ease of use.
