Geo-localised mobile voice and data services for humanitarian organisations

The HumaNav Next demo project addresses the Aid & Development community’s urgent need to increase the security of the humanitarian missions. The project aims to design, develop and demonstrate an end-to-end cost-effective service platform to significantly improve voice and data communications among humanitarian vehicles on-the-move (e.g. 4x4s of the International Red Cross) and Aid & Development Head Quarters, in order to better respond to emergency/war situations (e.g. kidnapping, car crashes) in conflicting areas. The service relies on accurate position reporting using satellite navigation and also Iridium for communications in remote areas.
