Facilitating the uptake of EO-derived information in sustainable development projects related to Agricultural and climate resilience
The ESA EO4SD Climate Resilience project encapsulates heterogeneous and multi-disciplinary knowledge to provide answer about the real potential of Earth Observation in supporting climate resilience decision making at regional and national scale, and in collaboration with key Multilateral Development Banks (or MDBs). The project aims at developing an EO-based climate screening and risk management tools. The project demonstrates the value of EO solutions with a series of use cases developed in partnership with the stakeholders (e.g. International Financing Institutions (IFIs), national hydromet agencies (NMHSs)) and innovators (e.g. citizen, entrepreneurs) to derive high-level data products supporting the monitoring of and management of climate vulnerabilities. Activities are implemented to support selected flagship initiatives and projects implemented in Central America and Caribbean, East Africa, Central Asia and South Asia and led by the key actors in climate financing (ie. World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Interamerican Development Bank, etc.), which are interested in robust and up to date climate resilience indicators.
