Virtual Access and Digitalization for Unreachable Sites

The project VADUS aims to develop and demonstrate a new set of applications for the enrichment of the tourists' visit experience based on the convergence of Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) technologies, the 5G networks and satellite services. The high bandwidth 5G capabilities are combined with the utilization of a cloud-based IT infrastructure for the centralized management of the 3D models. The proposed solution overcomes the current limitations of this type of applications enabling free movement of users in the site where the VR/AR applications is provided.
