Space-based services for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear operations monitoring

The SatCBRN project's objective is to use space-based services in order to improve surveillance of installations with hazardous materials, detection of spills, mitigation efforts and consequence management within the CBRN sector. The main users are military and civil authorities, coast guards, harbour authorities, facility owners and other relevant users responsible with safety and hazard management of CBRN incidents. The service enables them to monitor global shipping for chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear operations and industrial facilities. It uses satellites, airborne platforms and in situ instrumentations to give a broader picture and a better situational awareness, enabling regular and repeated surveillance of areas of interests and access to remote and hard-to-reach locations.
