Communication relay for deep-sea underwater networks

The COLDSUN service is a low-cost and open system for data transfer between underwater networks and the Internet. The service's aim is to provide a ready-to-use buoy relay system that is capable to route data from satellite networks to underwater nodes and vice versa. Potential customers leverage different forms of proprietary, individually designed wired or wireless communication systems for transmitting data from underwater networks to the Internet. Main users of the service are maritime research institutions, mining companies, offshore wind park operators, fishing companies, and every country with coastal lines operating in maritime areas. The service uses commercial satellite network to transport data from the relay buoy to the Internet.
